INTERCEPT A GIRL AT THE BORDER | NEPAL | STOP HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Stopped BEFORE she left Nepal

Pallav struggled to provide for her children after her husband left until one day when a stranger approached her and offered her a good paying job in India. Desperate to help to children, she gladly accepted the job and began her journey across Nepal into India. The man followed in another bus behind, but Pallav was just happy to have this wonderful opportunity. At a routine bus check, staff from one of our Captivating Monitoring stations asked her where she was going. After Pallav explained her good fortune she was asked if she knew the man who offered her work. She admitted that she didn't know him.

Sold into sex slavery: The 'Angels' rescuing Nepalese women

When border guards stopped her escape to India, Maheshwori Nepali was furious. "I felt very angry that they were holding me up and asking me so many questions," she says. Born into one of Nepal's lowest castes — the Dalits — she was seeking the promise of a better life over the border.

She is now safe and 3 traffickers are in custody

Kaplana and her husband were poor but they were happy. One day she met Rata who promised her a good job that would give her the opportunity to turn her life around. She didn’t tell her husband but left one morning to begin her journey to break their poverty. Her journey took her to the Nepal/India border where she was questioned about her travels by a Captivating funded 3 Angels Nepal monitoring station.
