New Opportunity for this Single Mom

I have never been to school and could only find work here and there as a waitress but because of my poor health, I can’t work long hours. I am a single mother with two sons.
Dechin's father was a self-taught tailor. It was through making clothes that her father got them through some of the most difficult times in their lives. One of which was when her mother had a back surgery. However, the monthly medication afterwards was too costly and their earnings were barely enough.
In my uneducated state, it is difficult for me to find a place to work to earn sufficient money. Clothes are needed by each of us. I joined the Husky Energy Tailoring Skills for Women Program in July 2019. This was my opportunity to change the future for my family.
Life hasn't been kind to Gongbotso and her family. Her father and her husband had never been to school and so they found it difficult to find a job that would earn them enough money. She was grateful to have the opportunity to learn more and enhance her basic tailoring skills and make a living out of it.
Angshutso was part of the Husky Energy Tailoring Skills Program for Women and completed her training in July 2019. Angshutso is a single mom. She owns no cattle or sheep and has only been to grade 2 at school. The program gave her skills in a variety of clothing designs and the confidence that her clothes were of such quality that she could sell them.
Qujiangtso has never been to school but understands the value of education. She wants to give her children good education but because of her lack of education and skills, is unable to find a stable job.
Thirty women have just graduated from the Husky Energy Tailoring Skills for Women Program and another 30 are getting ready to start later this month. Two women share short accounts of their experience and where they are now because of the program.
Soko is a 33-year-old single mother of two small children and pregnant with her third child. Men have come and gone throughout her life and so she doesn't know who the fathers of her children are. She dropped out of school in 4th grade and so has very little education.
