WSH: Desperation Attracts Deception – Asha’s Story

Desperate for a better future, Asha was scammed while seeking work abroad but found hope and support at our Women’s Safe Haven and Vocational Center.

Despite the pandemic and strict lockdown restrictions, 70 Nepali women were reported missing over the past 6 months and of those, only 16 have been found*. Our partner 3 Angels Nepal play a key role in helping families submit missing persons report with local police. They are also working closely with police, keeping watchful eyes and finding missing girls and women. Since March, when lockdown occurred in Nepal, 42 women have been reported missing through our partner. Only 6 have been found.
When girls are smuggled over the border, either by force or deception, most are never found. 3 Angels Nepal is working hard despite the restrictions and travel limitations, to stop girls before they are trafficked.

WE NEED YOUR HELP
We need to intercept these girls even before they cross the border. Your support of USD 100 will fund the interception of a girl. If you are a company or an organization, for USD 8,500 you could fund an entire monitoring station for a year.
You can also join the fight against trafficking and online sexual exploitation by signing up for our newest event in January – The Workout Challenge. This global event is raising funds to fight human trafficking on all fronts – prevention, rescue and rehabilitation. Click on the links below.
