Since the start of the year, our Pigs for Poverty program has helped 54 families so far by providing them with 2 breeding pigs and valuable training to start their own small pig raising business. We are looking forward to helping 71 more families as the year continues.
Other exciting news for us is that we have a very special lady joining us in this year’s project as a trainer. She was part of the first group of pig recipients in our 2015 Pigs for Poverty program. She has worked hard over the years and now has a significant pig breeding business. She is the perfect example of what is possible. Because of her experience and success, the villagers are eager to learn from her and listen to what she has to share.
This project not only provides women with an opportunity to increase the family income, but also empowers them to live their best lives and increases their confidence.
