OSEC Survivors Speak Up

Through a virtual meeting, 7 OSEC (Online Sexual Exploitation of Children) survivors joined 42 students from College of Saint Benilde to discuss how we can help each other raise awareness against OSEC. College of Saint Benilde is one of the popular universities in the Philippines where students mostly come from high-income families.

We know that the victims of OSEC are not just those who belong to poor families, but since the rise of online exposure of kids to influences they see in media and online sites, even those who belong in the upper classes can also fall victim to the dangers of OSEC.

It was such a significant time as our student volunteers heard first hand, from our young survivors, the devastating effects of OSEC to children and their families.

As we continue to fight this crime, we believe that the survivors’ voices make it clearer for us just how destructive OSEC is and how it is so important to make sure children do not fall prey to such exploitation.
