Over the past 9 years, 21 girls have called Eden home. These girls came from families who were too poor to give these girls the opportunity for a good education which would give them a bright future. During their time at Eden, each of these 21 girls were nurtured with love, care, kindness and mentoring from all the teachers, staff and Dale and Cyndi Gummin who have created and directed project Eden since it’s birth, providing a ‘home away from home’. When the time came for them to move on from Eden, each girl learned practical life skills, social skills, responsibility and a vocation that provided them with jobs and a steady income.
Our incredible journey with Project Eden is finishing. We feel so privileged to have partnered with everything that Eden has accomplished over the past 9 years with so many young lives being transformed. With the final girls about to enter the internship stage of their vocational studies, including full boarding accommodation at either their school or workplace, Eden has now closed it’s doors as their second home. The Gummins remain a phone call and hot meal away when needed and will keep in close contact until all girls graduate in June 2019. We love you all and are so proud of your hard work. These remaining girls will continue to be supported by Captivating and their loyal sponsors with fees and living costs until they graduate.
Thank you Dale and Cyndi for your passion to see girls rise above their circumstances and become young women who will change their world. You have spent many days, months and years doing everything possible to give these girls wings to fly.
