Mother Expresses Deep Regret for Not Getting a Chance to Study

Saraswoti is one of the girls who have been helped by the Captivating Village Program. The Captivating Village Program (CVP) extends its impact beyond the girls who benefit from scholarships by actively engaging their parents and the entire community. By fostering education awareness, the program leaves a lasting impact on their lives.

Saraswoti is one of the girls back in school, thanks to CVP. During the sharing session after the Value of Education seminar with the parents, Saraswoti’s mother shared with teary eyes the struggles she had to face in life due to the lack of education. She expressed her biggest regret in life for not getting a chance to study.

During her time, her parents treated females as if they were born only to get married and go to someone else’s home, so education was considered a waste of time. She now realizes that education can help females lead a happy family life and assist in daily activities like homework and playing. Her husband worked in the riverside throughout the day, but the income he earned was insufficient, which led to Saraswoti leaving school. She feared that her daughter would also have to face the same struggles she did due to their fragile financial status.

However, now that Saraswoti regularly attends school with our program’s help, her mother feels happy and satisfied. She promises to provide a suitable home environment for her daughter to complete her studies.
