Instilling Health Awareness in Remote Places

Over 10 villages were part of the 2019/2020 My Health, My Family, Our Safety project. 289 villagers attended the program at one of the project stops. Everyone who was part of the program, was given free medicine and other health and hygiene products. They also learned about gynecological diseases and basic healthcare knowledge. The learning doesn’t stop with those who attended but talked about further at home, impacting even more people.

“My two children are in high school and are both doing excellently in their studies. I feel proud and happy seeing that they no only cherish their education, but also make time to help me with household work. I want my family to have a better life so I save up as much as I can. I am reluctant to spend for hospitalization, even if I am seriously ill. My back usually aches but I just bear it, thinking that it is nothing serious. I have never considered taking care of my health as a priority.”

“Fortunately, there are people like you who provide health education programs to remote and isolated villages like ours.”

“Because of the information in this program, we are able to understand our own health conditions and get treated with the appropriate medicine. Despite the cold the weather, the staff and the doctors served all of us well. Thank you very much! We hope that you can visit this area again, spread health knowledge, and instill health awareness in this remote place.”

Thank you to Jason and Holiday and ASBV Charity for funding the My Health, My Family, Our Safety project in this village.
