Concluding the Second Cohort of Tailoring Skills Program

Three precious months have passed since the second cohort of Husky Energy (now a member of the Cenovus group of companies) Tailoring Skills Program for Women started. Twenty-nine trainees, composed of young women and mothers, are now ready to start anew with their acquired skills.

During their last month, as part of their final assessment, each of the women made an average of three sets of Tibetan clothes for their family members. They completed their projects independently, applying everything they’ve learned throughout the three-month course. Six trainees with the best outputs were selected to receive tokens of recognition.

The training may have concluded but this only means another beginning for the women. We hope that they will continue mastering their dressmaking skills and maximize it to find good employment or to start their own businesses.
