While this pandemic has tied down the majority of us in our homes, the young women at The Blessed Project have found ways to make their time at the shelter worthwhile and fruitful. One of them, Jean (name changed for protection and privacy), shares her experience.
“I used to have difficulty relating with and trusting others. Recently, because of the lockdown, I got to spend more time with the other women in the Blessed Project. This helped me get to know them better and strengthen my relationship with them.”
“Since I love baking and making do-it-yourself crafts, I often teach them how to make their own. Not only am I able to share what I know, but I also get to bond with them.”
When Jean returned to formal schooling the past year, she struggled a lot. But she found encouragement and strength from the staff and her fellow Blessed House women. Through Honor 1000 Movement’s Blessed Project, these women survivors get the opportunity not only to rebuild their lives, but to restore and build new, healthy relationships as well.
