We recently conducted an Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (OSEC) awareness campaign training in Tondo. Tondo is one of the high-risk areas in the country where many children and youth fall prey to the destruction of cybersex crimes.
Through partnership with Project Pearls, we are able to reach more than 700 families from this high risk community. Project Pearls has been helping children in Tondo with their education.
In the past months, they’ve experienced:
1. A child being part of an FB group that sells pornographic materials.
2. A number of children watching inappropriate videos in the community center.
3. A number of children joining FB messenger groups where each one is required to feature themselves via live videos.
To prevent more instances like these, they connected with us to teach the children in the community about online safety and the dangers of OSEC.
